The Super Six Super Middleweight Tournament is well underway. Arthur Abraham leads. Jermain Taylor withdraws. Andre Ward vs. Allan Green is next.

In addition to both the WBA and WBC super middleweight titles being on the line, one of the most intriguing elements of this boxing tournament is that Carl Froch, Arthur Abraham, Andre Dirrell, and Andre Ward all risked their undefeated records. In the modern era of boxing, the undefeated record is viewed with such reverence that it has become regular practice for a manager to “pad” their fighter’s record by scheduling sure-win fights. There are no easy fights in this six-man round-robin super middleweight tournament, which makes it all the more exciting.
